The Bank of Industry (BOI) is launching a new MyBOI Portal to make it easier for Nigerian businesses to apply for financing, submit documents and track their loan applications online.

The new platform is scheduled to go live on October 2, 2026, according to information published by BOI. The bank says the portal will allow customers to apply, track and manage their facility applications through a digital process.

The move is expected to make access to BOI financing more convenient for businesses that previously had to rely on traditional application processes.

Through the MyBOI Portal, eligible businesses can create an account or log in, complete their business profile, upload the required documents and submit a request for a financing facility. Applicants can then follow the progress of their applications as they go through assessment and approval.

BOI states that registered Nigerian businesses that are active, have a valid Bank Verification Number (BVN) for the owner or directors and maintain a verifiable business bank account can apply, subject to the bank's credit and cash-flow assessment requirements.

Sole proprietorships, partnerships and limited liability companies registered in Nigeria can be considered, while startups may also be assessed on a case-by-case basis based on their business model, viability and projected cash flows.

Applicants should be prepared to provide documents relevant to their business and the financing facility they are requesting.

BOI lists documents that may include CAC registration documents, business bank statements, valid government-issued identification, BVN, TIN where applicable, regulatory licences and pro-forma invoices for equipment or items to be financed.

Businesses seeking larger facilities may also be required to provide additional financial and security documentation.

Interested businesses can access the MyBOI Portal, create an account or log in, complete their business information, upload the required documents and submit their financing request.

BOI says applications are then subjected to credit assessment, including consideration of the applicant's character, capacity, capital, collateral and business conditions before a decision is reached.

The amount a business can access is not a fixed figure for every applicant. BOI says the eligible amount depends on factors including business size, transaction history, cash flow, credit profile and repayment capacity.

Businesses should therefore ensure that their information and supporting documents are accurate and up to date before submitting an application.
