Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has once again attracted attention after taking delivery of a customised Bugatti Chiron VXX, with the one-of-a-kind hypercar reportedly valued at about ₦9 billion.The luxury vehicle was unveiled during a ceremony in Lagos, with footage of the moment shared online by Venuum, the Dubai-based luxury car customisation company behind the project.
The Bugatti is not a standard Chiron. It has been extensively customised with a distinctive French Racing Blue front fascia, the iconic Bugatti horseshoe grille, a bold yellow number seven and a racing stripe inspired by the French tricolour.
The interior also features personalised details, including blue sport seats, yellow stitching and a gold-threaded design. Burna Boy’s name is incorporated into parts of the vehicle, further emphasising its bespoke nature.
The reported ₦9 billion valuation has made the vehicle one of the most talked-about luxury cars associated with an African celebrity. However, the exact purchase price has not been publicly confirmed by Burna Boy or Venuum, meaning the widely circulated figure should be treated as a reported estimate. The arrival of the Bugatti also drew attention from another major Nigerian music star, Davido.
A video showing Burna Boy receiving the customised vehicle circulated on Instagram and caught Davido’s attention. The singer reportedly reacted by liking the post, a seemingly simple gesture that nevertheless became a talking point among fans because of the long-running comparisons between the two Afrobeats stars.
The interaction quickly generated online conversations, with fans discussing the expensive automobiles owned by both artists and reviving familiar debates about their lifestyles and achievements. Davido himself has an extensive collection of luxury vehicles and recently made headlines after displaying his $5 million Bugatti W16 Mistral, adding another layer to the ongoing fascination with the two stars’ taste for exotic cars.
The new Chiron adds to Burna Boy’s already impressive garage, which has reportedly included several Bugattis, Ferraris, Lamborghini models and Rolls-Royce vehicles.
The Grammy-winning singer has previously faced criticism over his spending on luxury automobiles. In July, he responded to questions about the reported ₦9 billion Bugatti purchase, arguing that his decision to buy the car should not be linked to Nigeria’s road conditions or infrastructure challenges.
For now, the arrival of the customised Chiron has placed Burna Boy’s automobile collection back in the spotlight, while Davido’s low-key reaction has added another talking point for fans following both artists.
