The EFCC has commissioned a new Zonal Directorate Complex in Ado-Ekiti, a move aimed at strengthening anti-corruption efforts, improving justice delivery, and enhancing institutional capacity in Nigeria.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially commissioned its newly completed Zonal Directorate Complex in Ado-Ekiti, marking a significant step in strengthening Nigeria’s fight against corruption and financial crimes.
The state-of-the-art facility was commissioned on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in a ceremony attended by top government officials, security agencies, and stakeholders. The development is seen as part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen institutions responsible for promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance across the country.
Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event, Vice President Kashim Shettima commended the leadership and personnel of the EFCC for their commitment to institutional excellence and their role in safeguarding Nigeria’s economic and national security interests.
According to the Vice President, the new facility reflects the Federal Government’s determination to provide the resources and infrastructure needed to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption agencies under the Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted that strengthening institutions remains critical to attracting investment, improving public trust, and fostering sustainable national development.
The new zonal office is expected to improve operational efficiency, support investigations and prosecutions, and provide a more conducive working environment for EFCC personnel serving in Ekiti and surrounding areas.
Ekiti State Government welcomed the commissioning of the complex, describing it as a major milestone in the collective effort to combat corruption and promote accountability in public service. State officials noted that the facility represents more than just a physical structure, but a strategic investment in justice delivery, law enforcement, and institutional development.
Observers believe the new EFCC office will contribute significantly to the agency’s capacity to tackle financial crimes, recover public assets, and strengthen confidence in Nigeria’s anti-corruption framework.
The commissioning comes at a time when the Federal Government continues to emphasize transparency, accountability, and the rule of law as key pillars of national development and economic reform.
The new EFCC Zonal Directorate Complex is expected to enhance the agency’s operational capacity, improve access to justice, strengthen anti-corruption enforcement, and support the broader goal of building a more transparent and accountable society.
