The Federal Government has launched a new artificial intelligence-powered platform, GovGuideNigeria, aimed at helping Nigerians easily access government information and public services through WhatsApp and the web.
The initiative was unveiled by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, as part of efforts to improve digital access to government services across the country.
According to the minister, the platform allows Nigerians to access information relating to healthcare, banking, housing, education, identity management, and other public services from more than 35 federal ministries and over 60 government agencies.
The government said GovGuideNigeria is available in English, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba to make it easier for citizens across different regions and literacy levels to interact with government services.
Speaking on the launch, Tijani explained that the platform was designed to simplify how Nigerians access official information and reduce communication barriers between citizens and government institutions.
“Today, we launched GovGuideNigeria, an AI-powered platform designed to make access to government information simpler, faster, and more inclusive for every Nigerian,” the minister stated.
He added that the initiative reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to using artificial intelligence and digital technology to improve public service delivery, especially for underserved communities and low-literacy users.
The platform was developed through collaboration involving the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Meta, and Publica AI.
Nigerians can access the platform through the official website, GovGuideNigeria, while WhatsApp integration is also being rolled out by the Federal Government.
Users are expected to interact with the AI assistant by asking questions related to government services such as passport applications, NIN registration, housing schemes, healthcare access, and financial support programmes.
The Federal Government also encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of the platform to access important services and official information more conveniently through their mobile devices.
