Globacom has unveiled Glo Café 3.0, an upgraded digital self-service platform designed to give subscribers easier access to telecommunications, entertainment, payments and customer-care services from a single application.

The new platform was introduced as part of Globacom’s 23rd anniversary “Never Settle For Less” campaign, reflecting the company’s growing focus on digital services and technology-driven customer experiences.

Unlike a conventional telecoms application focused mainly on airtime and data purchases, Glo Café 3.0 brings several services together under one digital platform. Subscribers can buy airtime and data, borrow credit and data, share or gift data, manage subscriptions, calculate data usage and pay postpaid bills.

The application also provides multiple payment options, including cards, bank transfers and USSD, while transaction histories and notifications are designed to give customers greater control over their activities.

One of the major highlights of the upgraded platform is Gloria, Globacom’s artificial intelligence-powered voice and text assistant. Gloria is designed to respond to customer questions, provide assistance and help subscribers identify suitable offers.

The AI assistant also supports English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French and Spanish, giving users the opportunity to interact with the service in several languages.

Glo Café 3.0 also moves beyond telecommunications by incorporating entertainment features. Users can access radio, videos, games and the Glo Heritage Series within the platform, while partnerships with entertainment and lifestyle brands such as Boomplay and Domino’s expand the range of services available.

Globacom has also attached additional benefits to the platform. According to the company’s launch details, first-time users who download and register on the application can receive 75GB instantly, followed by 5GB monthly for five months, potentially bringing the total to 100GB.

Customers can also receive a 100 per cent bonus on airtime recharge through Glo Café, while selected data purchases attract additional data. Exclusive Café Special Data Bundles are also available at different price points.

The development reflects a wider shift in Nigeria’s telecommunications industry, where operators are increasingly looking beyond network connectivity to build broader digital ecosystems around their customers.

For Globacom, the upgraded platform represents an attempt to make everyday telecom transactions faster while adding digital entertainment and artificial intelligence to the customer experience.

The company’s Head, Web 1 Sales, Uche Ogwuda, described digital services as an important tool for transforming lives, reinforcing Globacom’s argument that technology should deliver practical value rather than simply provide connectivity.

As Nigerian consumers increasingly rely on smartphones for payments, entertainment, communication and access to services, platforms such as Glo Café 3.0 could become an important part of how telecom companies compete for customer loyalty.

With its combination of AI assistance, self-service tools, entertainment and data offers, Glo Café 3.0 signals Globacom’s latest effort to position itself at the intersection of telecommunications and Nigeria’s expanding digital economy.
