The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested 118 suspects and recovered arms and ammunition during a series of security operations across the state.
According to police authorities, the operation targeted criminal hideouts and areas linked to violent crimes, cultism, robbery, and other security threats affecting residents.
Recovered items reportedly include firearms, ammunition, and other dangerous weapons believed to have been used for criminal activities.
The police say the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and reduce crime within Lagos, especially in densely populated communities and high-risk areas.
Security officials added that investigations are ongoing and that some of the suspects may face prosecution after preliminary findings are completed.
The development comes amid renewed calls for stronger security presence and improved intelligence gathering across Nigeria’s commercial capital.
