The mother of late Nollywood actress and social media influencer, Nimmy Ferrari, has publicly cried out over an alleged dispute involving her daughter’s paternal family, just days after the actress was laid to rest.
Nimmy Ferrari, whose real name was Adesanya Nimota Omotolani, reportedly died at the age of 26, shortly before she was expected to celebrate the housewarming of her newly completed home in Sagamu, Ogun State. Following her death, she was reportedly buried at the property she had built.
However, what was already a painful period for the family has reportedly been followed by a dispute over the property and the circumstances surrounding Nimmy's burial.
In a video circulating on social media, Nimmy's mother appealed to Nigerians for help, alleging that members of the late actress's father's family were opposed to her being buried in the house she built.
The grieving mother claimed she gave permission for Nimmy to be buried at the property because she wanted her daughter's legacy to remain connected to the home. She further alleged that members of the paternal family were interested in selling the house.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the claims should be treated as allegations at this stage.
During her emotional appeal, Nimmy's mother also spoke about her relationship with the actress's father. She claimed that she was largely responsible for Nimmy's upbringing and education, including paying her university expenses. She also made allegations concerning her relationship with Nimmy's father and claimed that a past disagreement over school fees resulted in a physical confrontation.
The mother further said the death had left her devastated, explaining that Nimmy was one of five children she had lost.
Her comments have generated reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy for the bereaved mother while others called for the family dispute to be handled privately and peacefully during the mourning period.
The controversy took another turn after Nimmy's father publicly responded to the allegations. In his account, he disputed several of the claims made by the actress's mother, including issues surrounding Nimmy's medical care and the ownership of the house.
He said Nimmy had contacted him about building a home and claimed that family elders approved a portion of family land for the project. He also gave his own account of Nimmy's medical treatment before her death.
With both sides now presenting different accounts, the dispute has continued to attract public attention. For now, the focus remains on the family as they mourn Nimmy Ferrari, whose death came just days before what was supposed to be a celebration of a major personal achievement.
