The Navy has also stressed that the recruitment process is free of charge, warning applicants not to pay individuals or agents who claim they can secure recruitment slots or influence the process.
Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
Candidates must also be medically, physically and psychologically fit and must not have a previous criminal conviction. The minimum height requirement is 1.69 metres for male applicants and 1.65 metres for female applicants. Applicants must also be able to communicate in basic English.

They must have at least five credit passes, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings.
The recruitment guidelines also provide separate requirements for applicants with OND/NCE qualifications, technical trades, medical qualifications and sporting backgrounds. Candidates in these categories are expected to meet the specific qualifications attached to their chosen area.
Eligible applicants are expected to complete the registration online through the Nigerian Navy's official recruitment portal once the application window opens.
Applicants should provide accurate personal and educational information and carefully follow the instructions on the portal. After completing the application, candidates are required to print the relevant forms, including the acknowledgement form and other supporting documents specified by the Navy.

The date and venues for the recruitment examination will be communicated to applicants at a later stage.
