Undergraduate students studying Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, can apply for the 2026 Yinka & Pelumi Foundation Scholars Programme, which provides financial assistance and mentorship to support their academic journey.
The scholarship is open to eligible students from 100 level to 500 level, with the foundation offering assistance towards tuition, accommodation and academic materials, alongside opportunities for career development and professional mentorship.
According to the foundation’s official programme information, successful applicants can receive ₦200,000 towards tuition for the academic session, an additional ₦200,000 towards accommodation, and ₦50,000 per semester for academic materials.
Beyond financial assistance, selected scholars will have access to conferences and mentorship programmes where they can receive career guidance from professionals working in their respective fields.
The initiative is specifically designed for undergraduates in the university’s Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments, meaning students studying other courses or attending other institutions do not meet the stated eligibility requirements.
Applicants must also not be current beneficiaries of another scholarship, as the foundation identifies existing scholarship support as grounds for rejection.
Students are encouraged to confirm their eligibility and prepare the required documents before starting their applications to avoid delays or submitting incomplete information.
Required Documents for the 2026 Scholarship
Applicants must provide three documents, with the academic record required depending on their current level of study.
Students in 100 level are required to submit their Post-UTME result aggregate slip, a personal essay explaining why they want the scholarship, and a signed personal letter of attestation for character.
Applicants from 200 level to 500 level must provide their academic transcript printed from the OAU electronic portal, a personal essay explaining their interest in the scholarship, and a signed personal character-attestation letter.
The character-attestation letter must be downloaded from the foundation’s official programme page, printed and completed by a referee before being uploaded with the application.
The foundation accepts documents in PDF, JPEG or PNG format, with each file limited to a maximum size of 10MB.
How to Apply for the Yinka & Pelumi Foundation Scholarship
Interested students should visit the foundation’s official Foundation Scholars Programme webpage, download the character-attestation template and prepare the documents required for their academic level.
Applicants must then complete the online application form, provide the requested personal and academic information, upload the necessary documents and review their entries before submitting the form.
The application process is estimated to take approximately 15 minutes once all required documents are ready.
Students should use their correct university matriculation numbers and email addresses, as the application system is designed to accept only the relevant matriculation-number formats for Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students at OAU.
The foundation permits only one application per person during the application round, and students who have not received a confirmation email are advised to check their spam folder before considering any further action.
Applicants will be contacted by email after the review process to communicate the outcome of their applications.

The deadline for the 2026 Yinka & Pelumi Foundation Scholars Programme is October 25, 2026, and the foundation states that applications will not be accepted after the closing date.
