Okpebholo Charges APC Campaign Council on Grassroots Mobilisation Ahead of 2027
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has charged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council to take the party’s message directly to the grassroots as political activities begin to build ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Okpebholo urged members of the campaign council to ensure that the APC maintains a strong presence across the state, particularly at the ward and polling-unit levels.
The governor’s directive reflects the growing focus among political parties on grassroots organisation as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually take shape.
According to Okpebholo, campaign council members must work closely with party leaders and supporters in their respective areas to communicate the party’s programmes and engage directly with residents.
He emphasised the importance of reaching communities across Edo State rather than limiting campaign activities to major political events and gatherings.
The governor’s call comes as the Edo APC continues efforts to strengthen its political structure across the state’s 18 local government areas.
The campaign council is expected to coordinate mobilisation activities across different parts of Edo, with ward-level structures playing a key role in connecting the party with voters and members at the grassroots.
Okpebholo has also participated in ward-level mobilisation activities as the APC begins positioning itself ahead of the 2027 elections.
The governor has expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC ahead of the next general elections, while urging party members in Edo to remain organised and committed to the party’s objectives.
For the campaign council, the task now is to translate the party’s wider political message into direct engagement with communities, wards and polling units.
Political activities are expected to increase across Nigeria as parties begin strengthening their structures and preparing their supporters for the 2027 electoral cycle.
In Edo State, the APC’s grassroots mobilisation effort is expected to focus on building stronger links between the party’s leadership and residents across the state.
With the 2027 elections still ahead, the latest directive from Okpebholo signals an early push to establish a broad campaign network capable of reaching voters at the community level.
The coming months are likely to see more political meetings, consultations and mobilisation activities as parties prepare their structures and communicate their plans to the electorate.
For the Edo APC, the immediate priority remains ensuring that its campaign organisation reaches every ward and polling unit across the state.
