First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has declared that Nigeria’s economy is showing firm signs of recovery and stabilization following the implementation of crucial structural reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Summit held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, the First Lady pointed to positive macroeconomic indicators, including declining inflation rates, expanding foreign reserves, and a steady return of foreign investor confidence, as proof that economic policies are yielding tangible results.
Addressing thousands of APC women leaders, political stakeholders, and grassroots mobilisers gathered from across the country, Senator Tinubu stated that the administration’s core economic vision—tagged the Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0—has evolved beyond political rhetoric into impactful developmental realities.
"Our economy is stabilising," the First Lady assured attendees. "Inflation is coming down. Our foreign reserves are growing. Investors are returning to Nigeria, and our farmers are getting more support."
She urged party faithful to communicate the progress being made at the federal level to their respective local communities, describing President Tinubu as a courageous leader who took necessary, albeit challenging, structural choices early in his tenure to safeguard Nigeria's long-term financial health.
Beyond macroeconomic metrics, the First Lady underscored the administration’s social safety net and empowerment initiatives aimed at easing domestic pressures on Nigerian households.
She drew specific attention to the operational rollout of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), noting that hundreds of thousands of tertiary students across the country are now accessing interest-free loans to fund their higher education. Senator Tinubu emphasized that such social programs, combined with targeted agricultural interventions and direct credit schemes, are designed to cushion the immediate impact of structural adjustments while laying a foundation for sustainable prosperity.
The gathering, which served as a major political and economic engagement event for the ruling party's women's wing, concluded with calls for sustained unity and grassroots advocacy to support ongoing federal reforms.
