The World Book of Records, London, has recognised the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Dr. William Folorunso Kumuyi, for his outstanding contributions to Christian leadership, education, global evangelism and humanitarian outreach.
The honour was presented to the 85-year-old cleric during a recognition ceremony held in India, with highlights from the event later shared on Kumuyi's official social media platforms.
Speaking during the presentation, respected Indian pastor Sudarshan Babu said the recognition followed a comprehensive assessment of Kumuyi's life, ministry and global impact.
He described the Nigerian preacher as "a father of millions" whose influence extends beyond the Christian community into education, leadership development and humanitarian service.
According to Babu, the World Book of Records considered Kumuyi's decades of visionary leadership, educational advancement, international social empowerment programmes and community development initiatives before conferring the honour.
He added that Kumuyi's work has positively impacted millions of people across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas through evangelism, education and humanitarian activities.
The Joint Secretary of the World Book of Records, Dr. Ullaji Eliyazar, formally presented the certificate during the ceremony.
While announcing the recognition, Eliyazar congratulated Kumuyi and officially declared his inclusion in the World Book of Records for his exceptional achievements.
In his acceptance speech, Kumuyi dedicated the recognition entirely to God, saying the honour belonged not only to him and his wife but ultimately to Jesus Christ.
The cleric recalled that his Christian journey began on April 5, 1964, when he surrendered his life to Christ after hearing the gospel despite previously identifying as religious.
He explained that studying the Bible introduced him to the Great Commission and inspired him through the ministries of renowned evangelists such as Charles G. Finney and Billy Graham.
Kumuyi said he began a small Bible study fellowship in his university apartment in 1973 while serving as a mathematics lecturer, with just 15 students attending the meetings.
That fellowship eventually grew into the Deeper Christian Life Ministry and later the Deeper Life Bible Church, which has expanded into one of Africa's largest Christian ministries.
Reflecting on the ministry's growth, Kumuyi said he learned that the true strength of a church is measured not by how many people it can seat but by how many people it can send out to serve others.
He noted that the ministry now deploys missionaries to more than 50 African countries while maintaining a growing presence across Europe and the Americas.
Kumuyi also highlighted the impact of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), which has expanded the ministry's outreach to Asia and other parts of the world.
He described the recognition as an opportunity to strengthen partnerships and expand Christian evangelism, particularly across the Asian continent.
The World Book of Records stated that Kumuyi's recognition falls under its Excellence (E1) category, which honours individuals whose leadership and achievements set outstanding global standards.
The organisation expressed confidence that his lifelong commitment to faith, education and humanitarian service would continue inspiring future generations around the world.
The recognition marks another milestone in Kumuyi's more than five decades of Christian ministry, reinforcing his reputation as one of Nigeria's most influential religious leaders with a global evangelical impact.
