LAGOS, Nigeria — Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has visited Pakistan as part of the September 2026 edition of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), combining evangelical outreach with an unusual interfaith engagement in the predominantly Muslim country.
The Nigerian cleric’s visit attracted attention after he met Pakistan’s Grand Imam, Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad, at the historic Badshahi Mosque in Lahore.
The meeting brought together two senior religious figures from different faith traditions and focused on themes including love, peace, mutual respect and relations between communities. Reports and images from the encounter have since circulated widely online.
Kumuyi arrived in Pakistan in September as part of the GCK's continuing international evangelistic programme.
In a message following his arrival, the 85-year-old Nigerian pastor said his purpose was to share the love of God with the Pakistani people. He also expressed appreciation for the welcome extended by his hosts, describing the warmth of the Pakistani people and the fellowship he experienced during the visit.
The GCK is an international evangelistic initiative associated with Kumuyi and the Deeper Christian Life Ministry. According to the organisation, its outreach has extended to more than 180 countries and is focused on preaching the Christian message of salvation, hope and divine love.
The Pakistan programme therefore represents another stage in an outreach that has increasingly taken Kumuyi to audiences outside Nigeria and across different cultural and religious settings.
A major highlight of the visit was Kumuyi’s meeting with Grand Imam Azad at the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore.
According to reports of the meeting, the two religious leaders discussed the importance of love, peaceful relations and respect among people of different faiths.
Grand Imam Azad also indicated an interest in continuing the relationship beyond the meeting. Nigerian media reports quoted him as saying that arrangements could be made for a larger conference involving Kumuyi.
The encounter has drawn particular attention because it took place in Pakistan, where Muslims constitute the overwhelming majority of the population.

The Global Crusade with Kumuyi has expanded from large gatherings in Nigeria into an international ministry reaching audiences across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and other regions. Nigerian media have previously reported on major GCK programmes in Abuja, Benue and Ogun State during 2026.
Kumuyi’s Pakistan engagement also highlights the role religious leaders can play in creating opportunities for respectful interaction across faith communities.
The meeting does not erase the theological differences between Christianity and Islam. However, the reported emphasis on dialogue, respect and peaceful relations gives the encounter significance beyond the immediate GCK programme.
The Pakistan visit comes as Kumuyi continues an active international schedule through the GCK platform.
In August, the World Book of Records recognised his contributions to global outreach, education and humanitarian service. Reports on the recognition also cited figures associated with the GCK's five-year outreach, including claims of reaching more than 50 million people and recording more than 900,000 conversions.
