Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has offered to assist the Oyo State Government in strengthening security across public schools following recent kidnapping incidents that have heightened concerns among parents and residents.
The proposal comes amid growing anxiety over the safety of students and teachers after coordinated attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a formal letter dated June 9, 2026, Igboho communicated his intention to deploy members of his private security outfit, Iru Ekun Private Security Limited, to public schools across the state.
The correspondence was addressed to the Oyo State Commissioner for Education and copied to Governor Seyi Makinde.
According to the proposal, the security outfit requested detailed information on public schools and their locations to facilitate effective planning and deployment.
Igboho's organisation stated that it intends to station at least two trained personnel at each identified public school if approval is granted by the state government.
The proposed officers would be responsible for monitoring school environments and helping to prevent criminal incursions.
The security personnel would also coordinate with school administrators, community vigilantes, and relevant stakeholders to improve protection around educational facilities.
The offer emerged less than a month after armed attackers abducted pupils and teachers during coordinated raids on schools in Oriire Local Government Area.
