President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a new wave of executive appointments and leadership reconstitutions across several key federal ministries, statutory boards, and security institutions.

The official directives, issued through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) and executive communications from the State House, are aimed at strengthening operational leadership, operational efficiency, and policy execution across federal agencies.

The new leadership lineup includes prominent cabinet ministers, former security chiefs, and seasoned public administrators assigned to steer strategic statutory boards and specialized federal bodies

1. Security and Intelligence Sector Reconstitution

In a notable security board appointment, President Tinubu approved the appointment of the immediate past Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS).

The four-year tenure appointment was made following recommendations by current DSS Director-General, Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, to strengthen intelligence training and research infrastructure.

2. Commodity Trading and Non-Oil Export Expansion

To accelerate economic diversification, the President reconstituted the Governing Board of the Nigeria Commodity Exchange (NCX). The board features Dalhatu Abubakar as Chairman and Anthony Atuche as Managing Director, alongside non-executive directors including Najah Muhammed, Bamidele Hussein, Mezuo Nwuneli, Obi Igwe, and Foluso Ayo-Olaiya.

3. Cabinet & Economic Agency Leadership

The strategic appointments follow earlier cabinet adjustments, including the swearing-in of Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, alongside key agency appointments across the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and National Population Commission (NPC).

The Presidency reaffirmed that all approved board inaugurations and executive postings take immediate effect.

Appointees have been directed to align their operational priorities with the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on anti-corruption accountability, rapid infrastructure delivery, and socio-economic stabilization across their respective portfolios.
