President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him by Nigerians, declaring that he will never betray the confidence and trust the people placed in his administration.
The President made the statement while addressing supporters and stakeholders, stressing that his government remains focused on implementing policies and reforms designed to improve the economy, strengthen institutions, and deliver long-term national development.
"I will never betray the trust Nigerians placed in me," Tinubu said, reiterating his determination to lead with responsibility, accountability, and a clear commitment to the country's progress.
According to the President, his administration understands the challenges facing Nigerians, including the rising cost of living, unemployment, inflation, and security concerns. He acknowledged that many of the government's ongoing reforms have required sacrifices but maintained that they are necessary to build a stronger and more resilient economy.
Tinubu said the goal of his administration is to lay a solid foundation for sustainable growth by promoting investment, improving infrastructure, expanding opportunities for young people, and strengthening critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and energy.
The President also assured Nigerians that his government would continue to prioritize policies that encourage job creation, support local businesses, attract foreign investment, and improve public service delivery.
Since assuming office, the Tinubu administration has introduced a number of economic reforms aimed at stabilizing public finances and attracting investment. While some of these policies have drawn mixed reactions due to their short-term impact on households and businesses, the government insists they are essential for achieving long-term economic stability and national prosperity.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain patient and continue supporting the government's reform agenda, expressing confidence that the measures being implemented would eventually produce positive outcomes for citizens and the economy.
He further emphasized the importance of national unity, urging citizens across political, ethnic, and religious divides to work together in building a more prosperous and secure Nigeria. According to him, the country's development depends not only on government action but also on the collective efforts of all Nigerians.
Political observers say the President's remarks are intended to reassure citizens amid ongoing economic reforms and demonstrate his administration's resolve to remain focused on its policy objectives despite prevailing challenges.
The statement also comes as the Federal Government continues to roll out programmes aimed at improving infrastructure, expanding social interventions, supporting youth employment, and strengthening key sectors of the economy.
Tinubu concluded by reaffirming that every decision taken by his administration is guided by what he believes is in the best interest of Nigeria, promising to remain committed to the mandate given to him by the electorate and to work toward building a more stable, inclusive, and prosperous nation.
