President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said Nigeria is witnessing significant improvements in both its economy and security, attributing the progress to the reforms and strategic interventions introduced by his administration since assuming office.
Speaking on the state of the nation, the President stated that the country's economy has begun to recover from years of fiscal and structural challenges, while security agencies are recording greater success in combating terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, oil theft, and other criminal activities.
According to Tinubu, his administration remains focused on implementing policies that will deliver long-term economic stability, create employment opportunities, and improve the standard of living for Nigerians.
He noted that key economic reforms, including measures to strengthen public finances, encourage investment, and improve infrastructure, are beginning to yield positive results. The President added that increased confidence from local and international investors reflects growing optimism about Nigeria's economic direction.
Tinubu also highlighted the government's efforts to expand agricultural production, support small businesses, improve electricity supply, and accelerate infrastructure development as part of a broader strategy to stimulate economic growth and reduce poverty.
On security, the President commended the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies for intensifying operations across the country. He said coordinated military campaigns and improved intelligence gathering have disrupted criminal networks and restored relative peace in several communities previously affected by insecurity.
While acknowledging that security challenges persist in some parts of the country, Tinubu assured Nigerians that the government would continue investing in modern equipment, intelligence capabilities, and inter-agency collaboration to further strengthen national security.
The President stressed that his administration is committed to protecting lives and property while creating an environment where businesses can thrive and citizens can pursue their livelihoods without fear.
Tinubu also appealed to Nigerians to remain patient with the ongoing reforms, noting that meaningful economic transformation requires time. He said the government's priority is to build a resilient economy capable of creating sustainable opportunities for future generations.
Economic observers have offered mixed assessments of the administration's reforms. While some point to improved macroeconomic indicators and renewed investor interest, others argue that many households continue to face rising living costs and inflationary pressures. Similarly, security analysts acknowledge progress in certain regions but emphasize that sustained efforts will be needed to address emerging threats nationwide.
Despite these challenges, the President expressed confidence that Nigeria is moving in the right direction, maintaining that continued reforms, stronger institutions, and collaboration between government and citizens will help secure lasting economic growth and national stability.
As the administration continues to implement its development agenda, Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to delivering policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians and positioning the country for sustainable progress.
