The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has officially announced the schedule and registration guidelines for its 2026/2027 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) and Direct Entry screening exercise.
The university invited candidates who selected UNILORIN as their first-choice institution during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to participate in the admission screening.
According to the institution, the online registration exercise commenced at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, and was initially scheduled to close at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
The university later extended the registration deadline to Sunday, July 19, 2026, to allow Direct Entry applicants sufficient time to complete their registration process.
UNILORIN advised all applicants to complete their registration before the deadline and avoid waiting until the final days of the exercise. The institution stated that candidates must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) before beginning the online registration process.
Applicants are also required to provide an active personal email address and a personal telephone number throughout the admission exercise.
The university instructed candidates to upload their O'Level and A'Level results, where applicable, on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
Candidates awaiting examination results were advised to indicate "AR" (Awaiting Result) during registration until their results become available.
UNILORIN warned that incorrect information supplied during registration could automatically disqualify an applicant from the admission process.
The university also reminded candidates wishing to change their course of study to process such changes through JAMB CAPS rather than the university's admission portal. According to the admission guidelines, the university will periodically synchronise changes made on JAMB CAPS before the close of registration.
UNILORIN explained that no further course updates would be accepted after the registration portal closes.
The institution disclosed that admission decisions will be based on a comprehensive aggregate scoring system.
The aggregate score will comprise 50 percent UTME or A'Level performance, 30 percent Post-UTME screening score and 20 percent from five relevant O'Level grades.
University authorities urged candidates to read every registration instruction carefully before submitting their applications to avoid preventable errors.
The management further encouraged prospective students to rely only on official university communication channels for authentic admission information and updates.
UNILORIN remains one of Nigeria's most sought-after federal universities, attracting thousands of applicants annually because of its stable academic calendar and strong reputation for academic excellence.
The university advised all eligible candidates to complete their screening registration early while ensuring every required document is correctly uploaded before the admission portal closes.
