Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has officially commenced registration for its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise, inviting qualified candidates seeking admission into the institution to submit their applications before the deadline.

The university said the exercise is open to candidates who selected UNIOSUN as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and those willing to change their first choice to the university.

According to the admission guidelines released by the university, candidates must have scored at least 160 in the 2026 UTME to be eligible for the screening exercise.

However, applicants seeking admission into Law, Nursing, Islamic Law, and Medicine must score 200 or above to be considered.

The university also noted that its Medicine programme has been placed on hold for the 2026/2027 academic session.

UNIOSUN further stated that candidates who applied for any of the listed competitive programmes but scored below the required mark are free to change to other suitable courses for which they meet the admission requirements.

In line with the national admission policy, the university emphasised that applicants must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, to qualify for admission.

Candidates below the age requirement have been advised not to apply.

The institution also announced that Direct Entry candidates are eligible to participate in the screening exercise, provided they obtain the appropriate Direct Entry form from JAMB and submit their applications through the university's admission portal.

In addition, Direct Entry applicants are required to forward their academic transcripts to the university registrar no later than September 4, 2026.

To qualify for admission, candidates must possess at least five credit passes in relevant O'Level subjects obtained in not more than two sittings.

However, applicants for Law, Nursing, and Islamic Law are required to obtain the required credits in a single sitting.

The university also stated that Direct Entry candidates with a minimum of Lower Credit qualification may be considered for admission where applicable.

The university advised all applicants to provide accurate information during registration, warning that any candidate found to have supplied false information would face prosecution and forfeiture of admission if discovered.

It also stressed that application fees paid by candidates who falsify their records will not be refunded.

Candidates awaiting the release of their O'Level results may also apply but are expected to upload their results within one week after they are released.

The university warned that failure to participate in the screening exercise or upload the required documents could affect admission consideration.

UNIOSUN reminded applicants that admission into the institution will be processed through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

Consequently, candidates must upload their O'Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal as part of the admission process.

Successful candidates who eventually secure admission into the university will also undergo a compulsory medical examination, including screening for drug use, before completing their registration.

The university stated that applicants are required to pay ₦3,000 as the portal access fee and ₦2,000 as the Post-UTME screening fee through the official online payment platform.

Registration is available through the university's admissions portal.

Deadline: Thursday, September 17, 2026 (12:00 noon).
