FCMB and Animation Hub have unveiled a nationwide artificial intelligence (AI) education initiative aimed at empowering more than 138,000 Nigerian children with future-ready digital skills.

The programme, known as the Feature Earth AI Creators Programme, was officially launched on Friday, June 5, 2026, in commemoration of World Environment Day. The initiative is being implemented by Animation Hub in partnership with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) through the bank's Flip to Tech Initiative.

Designed for children aged between 8 and 15 years, the programme seeks to combine artificial intelligence, digital creativity, and environmental education to inspire young Nigerians to become innovators and problem-solvers within their communities.

According to the organisers, the initiative will be rolled out across 5,760 schools nationwide, with 24 children selected from each participating school. This is expected to bring the total number of beneficiaries to more than 138,000, making it one of Africa's largest youth-focused AI and environmental storytelling programmes.

Participants will receive training in AI-powered storytelling, animation, digital content creation, and environmental awareness. They will also learn how to use AI tools to produce short films and visual storytelling projects addressing pressing environmental challenges such as climate change, flooding, plastic pollution, waste management, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable living.

The programme is being led by Adetunwase Adenle, a four-time Guinness World Records holder, Co-Founder of Animation Hub, Founder of the Slum Art Foundation, and Project Coordinator of the Feature Earth AI Creators Programme.

Speaking at the launch, Adenle said the initiative was created to ensure Nigerian children are not left behind as artificial intelligence continues to reshape education, creativity, and innovation around the world.

“Artificial intelligence is transforming the world at an unprecedented pace, and our children deserve the opportunity to learn, create, and innovate with these tools,” he said.

“We want children to move beyond being consumers of technology and become creators of ideas, solutions, and stories that can positively impact their communities.”
