The Federal Government, through the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO) under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, is expanding the nationwide distribution of debit cards for the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme.
Under the Economic Shocks Response Initiative, eligible poor and vulnerable households captured on the National Social Register (NSR) are slated to receive direct financial assistance totaling ₦75,000 (disbursed in structured installments) to cushion economic adjustments and fuel subsidy reforms.
Beneficiaries are drawn strictly from the National Social Register (NSR) managed by the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) in collaboration with state-level Social Safety Net Units (SOCU). The selection process targets households falling within vulnerable socio-economic brackets across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Because enrollment is conducted through community-based targeting rather than open, unverified web forms, citizens are advised to follow official verification channels to avoid falling victim to online scams:
Contact Your Local Community Desk Officer (CDO):
Visit your Local Government Secretariat or Ward Development Committee office.
Desk officers hold the official master list of shortlisted households generated from the National Social Register for your LGA.
Verify via NASSCO / NCTO Official Channels
Beneficiaries can check registration status through the official portal of the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office at nassp.gov.ng or the NCTO portal at [nact.gov.ng / ncto.gov.ng].
Confirm if your household's unique Social Register ID or phone number matches the approved list.
Shortlisted beneficiaries receive direct SMS alerts containing verification codes, collection centers, and designated pickup schedules.
Card distribution takes place at designated community centers, local government halls, and partner microfinance/commercial bank distribution points managed by official Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
A valid National Identification Number (NIN) or Voter’s Card. The registered phone number linked to your household profile. Physical presence for biometric / photographic verification at the collection center. The ATM card and disbursement process are 100% free. Beneficiaries are advised not to pay processing fees to any agent or local official.
