Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have neutralized 15 terrorists during a precision night air strike executed northwest of the Pulka community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The targeted operational strike was conducted late Friday night, October 23, 2026, at approximately 11:50 p.m. following actionable intelligence and verified tracking of terrorist movements in the axis.
According to military statements released over the weekend by the Acting Military Information Officer of OPHK, Captain Dahiru Goni, the air interdiction was closely followed by ground assault operations to clear the strike zone and secure the immediate vicinity.
The air raid was initiated after intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms identified a cluster of armed combatants gathering near known insurgent transit routes along the Mandara Mountain corridor.
Targeted Location: Tactical enclaves northwest of Pulka, Gwoza LGA.
Execution Strategy: Air Component assets engaged the precise coordinate targets, eliminating 15 combatants instantly and destroying auxiliary equipment.
Ground Exploitation: Ground troops immediately advanced into the strike zone to sweep the area, neutralizing remnants and recovering weapons, including AK-47 rifles and ammunition.
Military authorities emphasized that the successful air strike forms part of sustained interdiction efforts designed to sever insurgent supply lines, restrict weapon transfers, and deny armed non-state actors freedom of movement across the Lake Chad Basin and Sambisa borders.
The military high command urged local residents, traditional leaders, and border communities to maintain active cooperation with security forces by providing timely, credible information on suspicious movements.
