PODBETA NG has announced the commencement of applications for its Digital Media Production Training Programme under Cohort 3 of the IDEAS-TVET Initiative, a World Bank-supported programme being implemented through the Federal Ministry of Education.
The initiative is aimed at equipping young Nigerians with practical and industry-relevant digital media skills that can improve their employability, support entrepreneurship, and create opportunities within the country's rapidly expanding creative economy.
According to the organisers, PODBETA NG, an approved Training Service Provider (TSP) under the IDEAS-TVET programme, will train 100 participants in Jos, Plateau State, through a structured six-month skills development programme.
The training is divided into two phases. Participants will undergo three months of intensive classroom and practical training facilitated by experienced media professionals from Nigeria and abroad. This will be followed by a three-month internship placement in media organisations and production houses, allowing trainees to gain real-world experience and industry exposure.
Successful participants will also receive monthly stipends throughout the programme, hands-on practical training, mentorship opportunities, and certification upon completion.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is targeted at young Nigerians who have a passion for media, communications, content creation, filmmaking, photography, video production, digital storytelling, and other creative media disciplines.
While the organisers have not released detailed eligibility criteria specific to this training, applicants are generally expected to be Nigerian youths willing to commit to the six-month programme and participate fully in both the training and internship phases.
The IDEAS-TVET initiative itself is designed to empower young Nigerians with employable skills and create pathways to sustainable careers and self-employment opportunities. Participants in similar World Bank-supported TVET programmes often benefit from tuition-free training, stipends, industry certifications, and internship placements.
