Applications are now open for the 2026 AI for Good Fellowship, an initiative by Code for Africa designed to empower African technologists to develop ethical AI solutions for real-world challenges.
According to programme details, the fellowship is implemented under the Digitalise Youth consortium and focuses on bridging the gap between artificial intelligence and human rights work across Africa.
The programme targets mid-career professionals with experience in AI, data science, and digital innovation, offering them a platform to apply their skills to pressing societal issues such as misinformation, civic engagement, and support for vulnerable communities.
The fellowship runs for approximately four months, during which selected participants will:
Collaborate with human rights organisations
Develop AI-powered tools and solutions
Work on projects addressing social and governance challenges
Contribute to ethical and responsible AI deployment across Africa
Participants will also join a network of innovators working at the intersection of technology, policy, and social impact.
Selected fellows will receive:
