The Federal Government, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Tuesday convened global partners in Abuja to drive a new national skills programme aimed at aligning vocational training with high-demand jobs across Nigeria.
The Federal Government has intensified efforts to tackle unemployment and bridge the skills gap by launching a strategic initiative focused on aligning vocational training with industry needs. At the “National Skills and Industry Alignment Roundtable” held in Abuja, stakeholders discussed transitioning from fragmented training programmes to a unified national system that directly connects skills acquisition with employment opportunities.
The roundtable took place in Abuja on Tuesday, bringing together policymakers, international development partners, private sector leaders, and training institutions.
The initiative is spearheaded by the Federal Government under the leadership of Vice President Kashim Shettima, in collaboration with global development partners, industry stakeholders, and vocational training providers.
