The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy has announced the return of its popular Build-A-Thon Holiday Camp, inviting young Nigerians between the ages of 10 and 18 to participate in a free, five-day technology training programme. The camp is scheduled to run from April 20 to April 24, 2026, and will take place simultaneously across six locations nationwide.

This is not your regular holiday programme. The Build-A-Thon Camp is designed to give young participants real, hands-on exposure to some of the most in-demand digital skills of today.

From coding and robotics to hardware and the Internet of Things, students will be guided through interactive sessions led by technology experts — with DIY kits and practical workshops forming the core of the experience.

The programme targets both junior and senior secondary school students, making it accessible to a wide range of young learners at different stages of their education.

By starting early, the Federal Government is clearly working to close the digital skills gap before it widens — giving Nigerian children a foundation that could shape their careers and future contributions to the economy.

Six states have been selected as host locations for this year's edition: Enugu, Lagos, Ogun, the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja), Delta, and Kano. The spread across different geopolitical zones means more young Nigerians have a genuine chance to participate without the burden of long-distance travel.

Parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children are encouraged to act quickly, as spots are expected to fill fast.

Registration is done through an online form available on the ministry's official X (Twitter) handle. The ministry has described the camp as a low-barrier opportunity — meaning cost will not be a reason to miss out.

Parents and guardians can register their wards by visiting the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy's official X page:

Look for the registration form pinned on their profile. Complete and submit the form to secure your child's spot before the deadline.
